The Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark has now completed the second phase of its construction efforts, opening an additional 216 guest suites, Serenity Spa & Fitness Center and Trails End Pub and Grille. The first phase of the renovation and expansion opened on May 1.
This marks the full opening of the resort, which now has a total of 453 suites.
Trails End Pub & Grille, serves a gourmet take on American classics. Serenity Spa has nine treatment rooms and provides services to adult guests, including, massages, body wraps, salt or sugar scrubs, peels, wax services, manicures and pedicures.
The Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is owned by Camelback Resort and Camelbeach Waterpark co-owners Arthur Berry III and Ken Ellis and Stand Rock Hospitality partners Pete Helland Jr., Pat Helland, Tim Lucke and Tim Gantz.
“Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia is designed to be vastly different from your typical indoor waterpark resort,” Berry said. “Because of our mountain location, we appeal to a very broad demographic and generational mix.
“Since opening our doors in May, we’ve welcomed a lot of families, but also couples, groups, wedding parties, honeymooners and outdoor enthusiasts. … With the opening of Phase II, we are now able to accommodate even more guests by doubling the guest rooms.”
He said the $163 million Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark is the largest single expenditure in the 52-year history of the resort.
Berry and Ellis bought Camelback Resort in 2005 with the goal of building an indoor waterpark resort.
