Bethlehem developer Dennis Benner’s plan to build a mixed-use office building at the corner of Third and New streets in the city’s South Side earned approval from the Planning Commission.
CBRE Inc. of Fogelsville made the announcement this morning.
St. Luke’s and Lehigh University are tapped as major office tenants of the Gateway at Greenway Park building, which will include an attached parking deck.
The $20-million project, a 125,000-square-foot, six-story building, will include retail space on the first floor and office space on the second through sixth floors. Jody King, CBRE vice president, is the leasing agent for the building, which is owned by Benner of Greenway Park LP.
“In real estate, the three most important words are location, location, location, and the Gateway at Greenway Park is the perfect name for this building because it truly is the gateway to the future of South Side Bethlehem,” King said in a statement.
Construction is expected to start shortly, with a targeted completion date of spring 2017.
St. Luke’s will have a mixed-use floor of clinical, teaching and administrative space. Lehigh University plans to move 140 employees in its Office of Advancement into the building.
