BB&T Bank has named William S. Proehl as market president for the Greater Lehigh Valley. He will oversee operations in Lehigh, Northampton, Luzerne, Carbon and Monroe counties and western New Jersey.
Prior to this post, he served as the business services team leader for the Lehigh Valley market.
He came to BB&T through its acquisition of National Penn in April 2016 and has more than 37 years of experience in banking.
“We are very fortunate to have someone with Bill’s knowledge, expertise and experience to lead our Greater Lehigh Valley commercial team,” said David Kennedy, BB&T Northern Pennsylvania regional president.

Proehl is based at BB&T’s regional headquarters at 645 Hamilton St. in Allentown.
