Behind the List with Bob Burkholder, President of Burkholder’s Heating & Air Conditioning Inc.

Professionalism, integrity, honesty

As summer nears, it’s time to finally turn off the heat in our businesses and homes and to prepare for the natural heat waves Mother Nature will bring our way.

Having an air conditioning system in your home or business can be vital to overall productivity, and local companies throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley are gearing up to assist you.

One heating, ventilation and air conditioning company that has been serving residents of the region for many years is ready to take on the heat and keep its clients cool. Bob Burkholder of Burkholder’s Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. in Emmaus is here to answer this week’s “Behind the List” questions.

Lehigh Valley Business: How long has Burkholder’s Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. been operating in the Greater Lehigh Valley and what are its primary services?

Bob Burkholder: In business for 54 years, Burkholder’s HVAC has made many positive advancements in our product line and expansion of our services, but one thing has remained the same – Burkholder’s dedication to professionalism, integrity and honesty.

We provide residential and commercial products, installation, service and maintenance agreements for air conditioning systems, humidifiers and air filtration systems as well as every type of heating system, including the environmentally friendly geothermal systems.

Thermostats that allow our customers to set and reprogram their home heating and cooling system from their smartphones or anywhere that they have Internet access are included in our extensive line of products. As a technically savvy company, Burkholder’s has advanced our services to include state-of-the-art duct cleaning with cameras to record the interior of the ductwork to ensure the highest level of energy efficiency.

“Going green” and providing customers with highly energy-efficient HVAC systems is at the core of Burkholder’s mission. To assist our customers in lowering energy costs, we have introduced whole home inspections. Specialized equipment to measure energy-efficiency is used throughout the entire home. Service technicians make recommendations based on data gathered during the inspection to help our customers achieve the highest level of energy efficiency.

LVB: What have been some of the biggest hardships and opportunities Burkholder’s has encountered throughout its years in business?

Burkholder: When it comes to opportunities, Burkholder’s has been very fortunate. When Reichenbach’s Oil decided that they wanted to provide oil to their customers but no longer wanted to provide service, they selected our company to take care of their customers. They selected Burkholder’s because of our reputation and experience in the industry. …

Burkholder’s HVAC and Elek Plumbing recently formed a strategic alliance that is designed to build on the strengths of both companies as we continue to achieve our common goal of excellence.
