Lehigh Valley Business: How long has INetU been operating in the Greater Lehigh Valley and what are its primary services?

Dev Chanchani: INetU has been in business in the Lehigh Valley for over 16 years. Business clients around the country and around the world count on INetU to provide managed cloud computing for their business critical websites and applications. Some of the clients we work with include BMW of North America, Sony Music, Pokémon, the National Auto Dealers Association and the U.S. Golf Association.

LVB: How do businesses benefit from using a data center?

Chanchani: The term “data center” means many things. To us and our customers, it means outsourced computing infrastructure, equipment and services. INetU has a network of global data centers that provide our clients with scalable resources such as cloud based storage, processing power, redundancy and security services. INetU data centers are specifically designed to have high technical density that translates into cost efficiencies that our clients appreciate.

LVB: A lot of businesses are adapting to the cloud network. What exactly is the cloud and how does it work?

Chanchani: Think of the cloud as a massive computer infrastructure that uses modern technology such as virtualization, dynamic scaling and automation of adding/removing resources on demand. The cloud can do everything that your servers, or even your internal data center can do, but the cloud can do it better, faster and at a lower cost.

There is no single “cloud.” Cloud is a term that simply references a set of computer resources. Google, for instance, is designed to be used by consumers for easy document storage and email, so the resources in that cloud are based on that use case.

INetU created our cloud to be used by businesses only, so we have designed in attributes such as redundancy, fault tolerance, security and speed – features that are important to a business.
