The Greater Berks Development Fund bought the four-story, 26,000-square-foot building at 606 Court St. for $1.2 million.
The GRCA and its affiliates, which include the GBDF, the Greater Reading Economic Partnership and the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry, are at 201 Penn St. in Reading.
Randy Peers, president and CEO of the GRCA, said the 26 employees who work at its organizations will relocate to Court Street.
“We are committed to downtown Reading,” Peers told members who attended the GREP’s annual meeting on Friday.
The move is expected to occur the first week of March at the same time the GRCA launches a new website.
The building has been vacant since Baker College closed last June, about a year after it opened. The private, nonprofit school was the only campus of the Flint, Mich.-based college’s 13 satellites outside of Michigan.
