Vizinex RFID, a Bethlehem-based tech company that develops and manufactures radio frequency identification tags, has come up with a new product line it says will increase the number of industries it can serve.
Vizinex’s original tags are made to adhere to flat metal surfaces to be used for inventory tracking of products. Now, the company has launched two new flexible, printable tags that can be adhered to a variety of surfaces.
Ken Horton, co-founder and CEO of Vizinex, said the new tags can be used in factories, hospitals, data centers and offices. Because of the tags’ slim design, the surface area is slightly larger than the original tags so they can hold the information.
“This tag is perfect for small metal objects where the mounting footprint is limited and a low profile is desirable,” he said.
He noted that the tags are printable by the consumer with the proper equipment, meaning customers won’t have to solely rely on Visinex to print the visual information, such as company logos and bar codes. The change could potentially be a money saver for a company, Horton said.
“While the tags can be preprinted, industries like health care, government and IT/networking have the option to print their own barcode or other numbers on the flexible tags,” Horton said.
Horton said the new product line is now available for sale.
