President
Moravian College
As president for eight years, Grigsby said his primary duty is to provide the vision and strategic plan for the college. “I believe I have a responsibility that each student at Moravian College receives the best education and co-curricular experience possible to prepare them achieve their career goals. My secondary duty is to secure funding through alumni, donors and grants to provide for capital projects and scholarships so that we can keep the independent education affordable.”
I am proud of Moravian’s being named an Apple Distinguished Campus, one of only a handful of university campuses worldwide. “This program levels the playing field for students who come from families of means and those that don’t. At Moravian, everyone gets the best in technology. It also demonstrates Moravian’s commitment to educating by doing.”
What I’ve learned: To surround yourself with people who share the same vision you do, even though they may have different perspectives on how to get there. Knowing that each one of you has each other’s back is a key to having a successful team that can help transform an institution. At Moravian, I’ve been blessed with a faculty and staff who constantly work to make a difference. It is a true blessing to come to work at a place you love.
I also love to play golf and to travel. Being able to spend more than four hours outside with friends and colleagues playing golf is incredibly relaxing, and being able to travel internationally provides so many different ways to look at the world.
