Chicago comes to Allentown — restaurant/nightclub debuts tonight

Listen to this articleThe owners of the former Stratus Restaurant renamed and redesigned the restaurant with menu offerings of Chicago-style food such as deep-dish stuffed pizza and hot dogs.
Co-owner Dave Gubitosi said the new theme will be more reflective of the establishment’s days as Mezza Luna, the restaurant that he had there before Stratus.
Mezza Luna had a casual atmosphere and menu and featured live music on weekends.
Gubitosi and business partner Eugenio Orona also are bringing back nightlife that they hope will have a broader appeal. They are planning karaoke nights, disc jockeys playing ’70s, ’80s and ’90s music and a Latin night in the newly renamed Club Gravity portion of the establishment.
“We’re still open to everyone. We open our doors to everybody, but we’re trying to spread out the appeal more,” Gubitosi said.
Chicago Restaurant and Nightlife is at 1179 Airport Road in Allentown.
