Pruitt is CEO and president of East Penn Manufacturing Co., manufacturer of Deka Batteries. “East Penn Manufacturing operates the largest single-site manufacturing facility in the world,” he said. “We are a privately held, family-owned company with over 10,000 employees globally and over 7,500 in the area. As part of my role, I also serve on the board of directors of East Penn Manufacturing Co., and the company’s Family Council and Foundation.”

In the last year, East Penn has been experiencing “what I call a ‘COVID hangover,’” Pruitt said. “Like all businesses, we have continued to face challenges brought on by the pandemic with additional hurdles crossing our path along the way.” These include employment, supply chain, inflation, interest rates, customer demand and backlogs. “However, East Penn has continued to overcome these challenges through improved planning, increased internal and external communication, and finding new, innovative ways of operating. We are also committed to staying close to our customers and the great people of East Penn who have been so important during these challenging times and are an important part of our future.”
