The thousands of commuters and other motorists who take Route 33 every day can’t miss the difference in the view at the highway’s Route 512 exit.
It’s there that work is moving swiftly on a new 349,000-square-foot industrial property.
J.G. Petrucci Co. of Hanover Township, Northampton County, has a 349,000-square-foot- building under construction at the exit along the Route 33 corridor in Plainfield Township next to Wind Gap.
The project, The Wind Gap Logistics Center, is at 1380 Jacobsburg Road.
Construction began late last fall and should be completed this fall, said Joseph Correia, executive vice president.
“We are building the project on spec and currently do not have a tenant in place,” Correia said. “Ideally, it will be one tenant. Our preference is to have one user.”
The building could have no more than two tenants and is designed for manufacturing and distribution/warehouse use.
Correia declined to disclose the estimated construction cost.
The company also has an approval in place to build a 43,000-square-foot building across the street, though there are no intentions to build yet, he said. That property is split between Bushkill and Plainfield townships, Correia said.
“They are both highway interchange sites, very visible,” he added.
