To meet growing demand for services, Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg is spending $3.8 million in renovations to expand the Mattioli Emergency Center.
Construction began in the Clementine Abeloff Community Health Center and should be followed by the Butler Pavilion entrance on Nov. 2, according to a news release.
Pocono Medical Center sees more than 75,000 patients annually through the Mattioli Emergency Center. This project is expected to enhance and grow the minor-care treatment areas, according to the release.
Once construction finishes, the emergency department at Pocono Medical Center will have 13 additional new patient treatment areas in minor care and space dedicated to emergency medical services for all its emergency medical services partners in the Clementine Abeloff Community Health Center.
