The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has planned two webinars to educate and encourage business leaders to apply for grant money under its Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Program.
The incentives are for businesses and organizations to buy and use alternative fuels and alternative-fuel vehicles.
The DEP is offering $7 million in grants in the following categories:
• Vehicle retrofit or purchase – To offset the incremental cost of buying alternative fuel vehicles or retrofitting existing vehicles to operate on alternative fuels.
• Alternative fuel refueling infrastructure – To assist in the costs to purchase and install refueling equipment for fleet or home-based refueling.
• Biofuel use – To support a portion of the cost to purchase high content biofuels.
• Innovative technology – To support research, training, development and demonstration of new alternative-fuels and alternative fuel-vehicles.
The program will receive applications throughout the end of 2016, a new feature based on feedback from prior years.
Applications only will be accepted online through the eGrants System.
For more information and to further assist potential applicants, DEP is hosting two webinars: on March 7 from 1-2 p.m. and March 8 from 11 a.m.–noon. The webinars will review key elements of the grant program.
