The first building covers 1 million square feet and will go up across the road from a Fed-Ex Ground facility on Willowbrook Road, said Johanna Chervak, director of real estate development for Rockefeller Group’s New Jersey and Pennsylvania region. The second building is 290,788 square feet. Both should be finished by summer 2019.
“We believe there’s going to be a strong demand for e-commerce users because of the proximity to Fed-Ex Ground,” Chervak said.
Rockefeller Group is also funding road improvements for the project, including construction of Radar Drive. Workers built that road as part of the Fed-Ex project and will extend it toward the smaller building in the park, she said.
Blue Rock Construction of Upper Macungie Township is building the 1-million-square-foot warehouse while Alston Construction, which has an office in Hanover Township, Lehigh County, is building the 290,788-square-foot center, according to Chervak.
The Jones Lang LaSalle team of Rob Kossar, Paul Torosian, Jeff Lockard and Brian Golden are the marketing and leasing agents for the development.
The property is north of Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Rockefeller Group, based in New York City, has a Morristown, New Jersey office.
PCCP LLC is based in New York City.
M H Architects of St. Louis, Mo. is the architect.
Rockefeller Group did not disclose the estimated construction cost.
The project addresses are 951 Willowbrook Road for the one-million-square-foot building and 250 Radar Drive for the 290,788-square-foot center.
