The 16th annual report provided a description of each casino’s activities related to the implementation of their diversity plans and the action taken by the entities to achieve Pennsylvania’s goal of enhanced representation of diverse groups in the gaming industry. 

The Diversity Report displayed the following key figures:

  • Pennsylvania’s 17 casinos collectively employed 15,461 persons at the close of the state fiscal year of 2022-2023. 
  • 41% of those employed are racial minorities while 42% are female. 
  • 13,863 of those employees (90%) are residents of Pennsylvania. 
  • Casinos spent $838,378,181 in 2022-2023 with other businesses for construction and non-construction expenses.

The land-based in Pennsylvania consists of six racetrack (Category 1) casinos, five stand-alone (Category 2) casinos, two resort (Category 3) casinos and four mini-casinos (Category 4).  Pennsylvania casinos and the other types of Board-regulated gaming generated over $2.3 billion in tax revenue during the 2022/2023 State Fiscal Year.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board oversees all aspects of gambling involving 17 land-based casinos, , retail and online sports wagering, and () at qualified truck stops, along with the regulation of online fantasy sports contests.
