In his role at the LVEDC, Cunningham has been instrumental in the economic and cultural rebirth of the Lehigh Valley.
He was twice elected mayor of Bethlehem, twice elected Lehigh County executive and was appointed secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services in former Gov. Ed Rendell’s administration.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in government from Shippensburg University and a Master of Arts in political science from Villanova University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
He was born and raised in Bethlehem, where his family has lived for five generations.
