“As the owner of Franklin Hill Vineyards, my duties are to make sure my staff has all of the tools they need to do their job well,” said Pivinski. “I hire the best in their field and get out of their way!” Her most important responsibility is to make sure the vineyards’ mission statement and culture are always followed. “I held this job for 45 years. I feel it has given me a purpose and that I have the intuition to guide my company in a positive and progressive direction. Always listen to your employees from all generations.”
Pivinski said she has started delegating more. “Letting go and becoming an observer has been my biggest test to date.” After well over four decades at the helm, “last year I knew I had to stand back from the everyday tasks and put my trust in my team. Every day I see the daily responsibility’s being done in a different and possibly better way … . It is very humbling.”
