An engineering firm with offices across the nation and in Algeria has opened a Lehigh Valley location with the ribbon cutting at an office at 5100 W. Tilghman St. in South Whitehall Township on Tuesday evening.
Headquartered in West Nyack, N.Y., McLaren Engineering has eight engineering divisions, staffed with nearly 200 employees in 10 offices.
The new Lehigh Valley office is headed by engineer Matthew B. Kawczenski.
“As a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, I’m particularly enthusiastic about leading and growing our new [South Whitehall] office,” said Kawczenski, who will be McLaren’s Pennsylvania regional director. “We plan to expand our services across a number of different markets here.”
The company’s president, Malcolm McLaren, said one of the things that drew the firm to the Lehigh Valley was the local talent pool.
He said the firm looked forward to the “opportunity to attract talent from Lehigh University and Lafayette College, which have excellent engineering programs.”
