Higher Education / Career Development Webinar

The pandemic had a profound impact on how we educate students to prepare them for careers. Expect a lively discussion on the future of education, remote learning, and workforce development.

Dana Baker is the Executive Director for Alvernia University’s Regional Campuses.  She is a passionate professional with a focus on equity, inclusion, and innovation in higher education.  Her 20 years of experience in higher education has included: academic advising and support, financial aid, enrollment management and student services. 

She served as the Director of Alvernia’s Philadelphia Campus since 2013 before moving into a more strategic leadership role for the university.  Her focus is on institutional effectiveness through use of data, assessment of policy and process, learning outcomes, operational workflows, equity of services and experience for students at all satellite campuses and developing corporate partnerships.

Her approach to higher education is looking at innovative ways to meet the rich tradition of liberal arts education with corporate needs of the future.  By collaborating with industry leaders, higher education research strategists, and government officials, she strives to provide strategic and visionary management through developing enrollment and revenue forecast planning, goal setting, data analysis, and strategic planning to deliver both premier academic degree programs for Adult learners and Graduate Students and Non-Degree professional certificates and micro-credentials developed by leading industry partners. 

Dana is currently completing a Doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership from Wilmington University and possesses both a Master of Science in Education and Bachelor Degree(s) from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.   



Nancy Conrad, Employment and Higher Ed attorney, White and Williams 

Ms. Conrad is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department and Chair of the Higher Education Practice Group with White and Williams LLP, resident in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. She practices in the area of employment/higher education law and litigation with a focus on representing educational institutions and non-profit organizations in all aspects of workplace, academic and conduct disputes.

Ms. Conrad’s practice includes the defense of federal and state discrimination claims, wrongful discharge claims, whistleblower claims, employment contract matters and restrictive covenant cases. Ms. Conrad is recognized for her depth of experience in analyzing and problem-solving controversial matters in higher education matters, including faculty matters related to tenure and student proceedings related to discipline and dismissal.

Ms. Conrad is a certified Level 2 Civil Rights Investigator and conducts investigations related to compliance and faculty, staff and student misconduct, including sexual misconduct.

Ms. Conrad received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Lycoming College and her M.Ed., summa cum laude, from The Pennsylvania State University and her J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law. Ms. Conrad has been selected in a survey of her peers in The Best Lawyers in America and as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer. She has received the Anne X. Alpern Award from the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession, the Athena Award from the Chamber of Commerce, and the Take the Lead Award from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. She has been named by Lehigh Valley Business as a Woman of Influence.

Ms. Conrad is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lehigh County Bar Associations and serves as a Co-Vice Chair of the PBA Federal Practice Committee, a Past Chair of the PBA Labor and Employment Law Section and a Past Co-Chair the PBA Commission on Women in the Legal Profession. Ms. Conrad also served as the Woman Governor on the Board of Governors for the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Chair of the PBA Diversity Team. She currently serves as VicePresident of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.

Ms. Conrad is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.


Cindy M. Haney, Vice President for Enrollment Management, Lehigh Carbon Community College 

Cindy Haney currently services as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Lehigh Carbon Community College.  Cindy has worked in higher education in the community college sector for over 31 years.  She has served as the Director of Financial Aid and the Executive Director of Enrollment Services for Montgomery County Community college and worked for Bucks County Community College. 

Cindy is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Education program in Higher Education Leadership at Delaware Valley University.  She holds her Master of Arts degree in Professional and Business Communication from LaSalle University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Media from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She has served her state and national professional financial aid associations in various volunteer capacities and is a PASFAA, NASFAA, EASFAA, and AACRAO member.
