FedEx is looking to hire 400 workers for its Lehigh Valley hub in Allen Township.
The company opened its FedEx Ground facility in 2018, which serves as its East Coast hub, north of Lehigh Valley International Airport at 1000 Willowbrook Road.
“FedEx is an essential business and we take seriously our responsibility to continue delivering critically needed supplies as the country responds to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said FedEx spokesperson David Westrick, in a statement. “FedEx is hiring team members in the Lehigh Valley to help us continue to power commerce during this time of need. Open positions are for package handlers with growth opportunities.”
People interested in applying at the Lehigh Valley hub in Allen Township can visit GroundWarehouseJobs.fedex.com. Interested candidates must be at least 18 years old, the company said.
Depending on the shift, wages start at $14.75 per hour.
The company said it is also closely monitoring guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health organizations for safety of employees and customers, including practicing social distancing.
“The safety and well-being of our team members and customers is our top priority,” Westrick said. “We continue to work diligently to provide supplies across the network to assist with hygiene, including hand soap, disinfecting wipes, latex gloves, and hand sanitizer. In addition, we are encouraging our team members to take any signs of illness seriously, seek medical attention as needed, and promoting guidance from leading public health organizations, and other experts, on how to keep the workplace safe.”
The company has more than 1,400 employees at its Allen Township hub.
