A Lehigh Valley husband and wife have taken their years of experience in the financial-planning industry and combined it to open their own financial-advisory firm.
Chris and Jamie Englebert launched Englebert Financial Advisers. They’re currently negotiating to lease office space in Upper Macungie but have had the firm licensed and have started practice.
Using the experience they’ve gained over the years, they want to operate their fee-based practice a little bit differently than most advisers, Chris said.
“Many investment advisers are very passive in engaging clients,” he said. “We push information out there.”
For example, the firm produces a monthly video discussing the NASDAQ and other market updates. It also has an app clients can download to contact the firm and access accounts and information.
The firm specializes in police pension funds, which Chris said requires a specific knowledge and is different from many other retail products on the market.
Englebert also offers retail financial products as well as life strategy planning to help people prepare or deal with issues ranging from divorce to death. The firm handles retirement planning, pension plan advisement, financial wealth planning, 401k, 403b and 457 plans.
