FLX Solutions is using FLX BOT to revolutionize maritime, construction, and transit industries, the company said. FLX BOT is a miniature, modular, and highly maneuverable snake-robot designed for inspection and maintenance in hard-to-reach spaces.
“While working as a property superintendent in South Bethlehem, I constantly ran into maintenance challenges in tight spaces,” Founder Matt Bilsky said. Bilsky developed the FLX BOT during his doctoral research at Lehigh University. “I saw an opportunity to solve a real problem—one I’d experienced personally.”
FLX BOT initially launched with a focus on defense and shipbuilding and found a specific market with pilot programs.
“We had interest from many industries,” Bilsky said, “but needed one that could support early development and scale with us.” The path began with defense, but the company now sees FLX BOT being used in transit, energy, and construction.
“We’ve gone from a lab prototype to real-world impact,” Bilsky said. “And we’re just getting started.”
