Coordinated Health, part of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), received a Healthgrades 2022 Patient Safety Award.
Coordinated Health–Allentown, which received the award for the fourth consecutive year, is shared only by the top 10% of all short-term acute care hospitals in the nation, the hospital network said.

“This recognition reflects our commitment to our patients,” said Amy Nyberg, senior vice president, Ambulatory Services, LVHN, and president, Coordinated Health. “We are proud to receive this award, but even prouder of our colleagues for continuing to deliver the high-quality care our patients expect and deserve.”
“Providing safe, high-quality care is a priority for us,” said Christine Biege, vice president of Patient Care Services, Coordinated Health. “Receiving this recognition is a testament to our dedication to patient care, and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish.”
Healthgrades studied 170,231 patient safety events involving Medicare patients from 2018 through 2020 and found four patient-safety indicators that accounted for 74% of all patient safety events.
According to Healthgrades, patients who are treated by hospitals that receive a Patient Safety Excellence Award are less likely to experience in-hospital injuries or infections, including:
