Girl Scouts honor women leaders

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania hosted its annual Take the Lead Lehigh Valley Event this week, honoring women leaders in the Lehigh Valley. The event at the Wind Creek Bethlehem paid tribute to a number of local women.
The 2025 honorees were:
- Lori A. Alfonse, deputy physician-in-chief, Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute
- MaryEllen Dickey, chief philanthropy officer, Da Vinci Science Center
- Corinne Goodwin, founder & executive director, Eastern PA Trans Equity Project
- Carolina Hernández, assistant dean & director, Community Service Office, Lehigh University
With a camp-themed ceremony, Take the Lead served as GSEP‘s signature fundraising event – helping to provide hundreds of Girl Scouts throughout the Lehigh Valley region with financial support so they can experience all that Girl Scout camp has to offer.
Girl Scouts also participated in the show, serving as emcees and presenters.
Four Girl Scouts who were selected to participate in Shadow Days with one of the honorees were invited to speak to share what they learned about careers, networking, and leadership.
