Allentown Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) and Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski today named Lehigh Valley Grand Prix as the Business of the Month at a news conference held at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix at 649 S. 10th Street. rn rnLehigh Valley Grand Prix was selected by members of the Business Recruitment and Retention Committee of Allentown Ahead, a volunteer group of AEDC.rn rnToday, we pause to honor one of the young professionals in a fledgling business, Mike McCreary, a true entrepreneur, said Pawlowski. Mike is a product of the entrepreneur program at Lehigh University. A 2007 graduate, Mike is the brains behind this adaptive reuse of a former Mack Trucks facility.rn rnI am honored to have been selected, said McCreary. The city and AEDC have been very supportive. I remember the first day I met Lewis Edwards of AEDC and told him I needed 50,000 square feet for an indoor kart arena. He went right to work on it. I am pleased and proud to be part of the exciting things happening in the City of Allentown.rn rnIts important to recognize the valuable contributions made by businesses to make Allentown a better place to live, work and play, said Pawlowski. The Business of the Month designation is one way of bringing attention to their outstanding efforts. rn rnAllentown Ahead is a group of business and community leaders dedicated to continuously improving the business climate in the city. Members lend their time and expertise toward solving some of the more difficult problems related to economic development in the City Of Allentown.
