The Grand View Hospital Auxiliary donated $171,000 to the Grand View Health Foundation for the new hospital pavilion scheduled to open next July.

The six-story, 190,000-square-foot hospital pavilion will have 26 private intensive care unit and progressive care unit rooms, in-room technology, an emergency department with 28 treatment rooms and two trauma bays, a helicopter pad, and 10 new operating rooms. It is being built next to the existing hospital in Sellersville.

The funds are part of the auxiliary’s $600,000 pledge toward the new facility, the auxiliary said. To date, the group has raised $185,000 which includes $14,000 for Breast Cancer Services, raised at this year’s Designer Bag Bingo event.

Other fundraisers planned include the 49th Annual Golf Tournament Aug. 15, the Annual Festival of Lights holiday celebration, which will mark its 39th year on Dec. 7, and a Duck Derby Sept. 18 along with the Gallery of the Arts in Sellersville.

During the annual meeting when the check was presented, the auxiliary named Debbie Horne, recording secretary, Auxilian of the Year.

Two new board officers, Treasurer Barbara Matkowski and Corresponding Secretary Irene Roberts, were also installed.
