Brunius leads Mack LVO’s 2,700 employees, with the responsibility from order to delivery. He analyzes truck orders, gets the needed components, builds the vehicles to specification and sends them out to dealers and customers.
After heading the Volvo Trucks plant in Sweden, Brunius came here on assignment for Volvo AB, Sweden (Mack’s parent company) a year and a half ago.
He said he is proud of “building strong, self-improving organizations, and doing that through engaging all people in the organization toward a common purpose and goal.”
Brunius said he’s learned (and must occasionally relearn) “that things rarely are what they appear to be at first glance. I’ve learned that listening and ‘go and see’ are two of the most important aspects of leadership.”
For relaxation, he said, golf and travel register “very high on my fun agenda. (Also, a ride on my Harley!) Golf is very different than anything I’ve tried. It’s socializing in combination with a challenge!”
