Opioids in the workplace. Total employee physical and mental health. Patient data management and how data are used.
Those and other newsy topics are on the agenda of health care professionals and experts who will speak Thursday morning at Lehigh Valley Business’ annual Health Care Symposium at University Center at DeSales University in Center Valley. About 150 professionals are expected to attend.
“We are looking forward to a very informative program with topics ranging from wellness and health care data to a very serious issue of opioids in the workplace,” said Mike O’Rourke, publisher of Lehigh Valley Business and the emcee for the event.
It begins with breakfast and networking at 7:30 a.m., followed by opening remarks at 8 and then a keynote presentation on wellness programs by Allison Hess, director of wellness programs for the Geisinger Health Plan.
Then a panel of experts will address health care data – how the information is used and how to protect it.
After a networking break, opioids in the workplace will be the topic of another panel discussion to begin at about 10 a.m.
