Attorney Matthew Sorrentino is taking over as acting president and CEO of Health Network Laboratories in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.
Currently chief legal officer and senior vice president of HNL’s parent, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Sorrentino is replacing Dr. Peter Fisher, who has resigned.
Sorrentino was a founding member of the HNL board of directors more than 20 years ago.
“Sorrentino’s strong background in partnerships, mergers and acquisition makes him the ideal candidate to accelerate HNL’s growth and success,” Kathryn Taylor, HNL board chair, said in a statement.
The board of directors will soon begin a search for a new permanent CEO.
Fisher was with HNL for seven years.
“He resigned due to divergence of opinion with the board regarding policies guiding the company,” according to a spokesperson of HNL. The spokesperson did not disclose the specific issues.
