Hotel Bethlehem hopes for ‘threepeat’ in USA Today Best Historic Hotels contest

Once again, the Historic on Main Street in Bethlehem has been nominated by as one of the in the country. 

This is the fifth time the hotel has made the list. 

If the hotel wins, it will be the third consecutive year it takes the top spot, said Managing Partner Bruce Haines. 

“These victories aren’t just a win for the hotel, they’re a win for the entire community,” said Haines. “The community built Historic Hotel Bethlehem. It’s been the go-to venue for community celebrations for generations. Thousands of families have relied on the hotel for employment. So, we are happy that we can once again invite the community to participate in the USA Today voting.”   

There’s the catch. It’s now up to the public to decide if the hotel keeps its top spot for the third year. 

To vote, visit www.votehotelb.com. People can vote daily until Monday, Aug. 7th at 11:59am.   

Historic Hotel Bethlehem came in third place in 2019, moved up to second in 2020, and won first place in both 2021 and 2022. It knocked out historic destination heavyweights like the Peabody in Memphis and Hotel Du Pont in Delaware to take the lead.   

As of 2:30 July 10, it was in the number one spot for this year’s contest. 

Historic Hotel Bethlehem opened in May of 1922 as a 200-room community hotel. Prior to Historic Hotel Bethlehem, multiple structures occupied the property.   

“Historic Hotel Bethlehem is part of the fabric of people’s lives in the Lehigh Valley. Residents and visitors have known for generations that it’s special. To see such a prestigious publication recognize what the locals already know is a testament to our community hotel,” said Kelly Ronalds, the hotel’s director of room sales and guest experience.
