Emerging technologies. The Industrial Internet of Things. What’s new in leasing and buying equipment.
Those and other critical topics are on the agenda this Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Lehigh Valley Business Manufacturing Symposium 2016 at the Agri-Plex at the Allentown Fairgrounds.
Nearly 200 professionals in manufacturing and related fields have registered for the event, which will feature nine experts as speakers, panelists and moderators.
John McElligott, CEO of York Exponential – a technology consulting company for manufacturers and businesses – will deliver the keynote address.
“We are excited to have John, a nationally recognized speaker on the disruption that technology is having on the manufacturing floor, as our keynote speaker,” said Mike O’Rourke, publisher of Lehigh Valley Business. “He has presented this topic all around the country, and we are happy to have him in the Greater Lehigh Valley.”
The symposium begins at 7:30 a.m. with continental breakfast and networking, followed at 8:20 by McElligott’s keynote speech.
A panel discussion at 9:15 is a primer on getting started with the Industrial Internet of Things – the use of IoT technologies in manufacturing. It has immense potential to increase efficiency, sustainability and quality control.
The panelists are Bob Pickell of AutomaTech Inc. (a General Electric Channel Partner), Eric J. Bryla of NexCtrl Inc. and Daniel Clarke of Arraya Solutions. Jose Acosta of Midcore Solutions will moderate.
Following a networking break, a second panel discussion begins at 10:20 a.m. and will focus on advice for growing your manufacturing.
John Hillard of Murray Securus will address changes in law with respect to the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Robert Lee of Bank of America will talk about options for leasing and buying equipment, and Tony Deutsch of Concannon Miller & Co will address tax and research and development credits.
Jack Pfunder, president and CEO of the Manufacturers Resource Center, will moderate.
