“As the president/CEO of People First Federal Credit Union, I have a large range of responsibilities,” Meller said, including setting and achieving organizational goals; managing operations; maintaining financial stability; building relationships with members and stakeholders; providing leadership; and advocating for credit union interests.
“One of the challenges we have faced this year is finding qualified talent,” he noted. “To address this shortage, we have implemented two solutions. Firstly, we increased our compensation to attract more qualified candidates. Secondly, we have hired more part-time employees to fill the open positions. The part-time positions offer more flexibility in terms of work schedules.”
