Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors
Porembo has been CEO for six years but it “feels like 20 after the industry was shut down during COVID.”
He’s responsible for the management and oversight of the association’s day-to–day operations. “This includes the services of (the) Multiple Listing Service, Real Estate Academy and Marketing Division. I maintain programs, policies and systems for … efficient operation … and use measurement guidelines to track performance. I assist the board of directors with the implementation of the … comprehensive strategic plan and short-range plans to achieve GLVR’s mission. I also work closely with the board communicating, advising and making recommendations on issues impacting the local real estate industry.”
Porembo said he’s proud to see and help association members who are involved in the community. In addition, GLVR leadership worked in collaboration with Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley and local governments “to create an action plan to reinforce our zero-tolerance policy on noncompliance with the Fair Housing Act.” The partnership created an action plan “designed to reinforce our code of ethics to increase fair housing compliance and remove barriers to homeownership.”
His advice? Work hard, never waste a second, and “education is the greatest capital investment in your life. The harder I work the luckier I get. I will outwork anyone.” Also, the higher the monkey climbs the flagpole, Porembo said, the more his rear end is exposed.
Outside of work, he spends time with family, doing a lot of outside activities such as hiking, hunting, fishing and biking. “My biggest release of stress (or adding to it) consists of watching Penn State and Eagles football.”
