Interim President
East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania
I became interim president July 31, 2020. Prior to that, I served as vice president for administration and finance and chief financial officer since 2013.
My role is to advance the college’s mission by providing effective leadership to a community of nearly 7,000 faculty, students and staff in the educational, cultural and economic development of the region; implementing policies and procedures pertaining to instructional, research and public service programs; and establishing policies and procedures for the effective management of the institution and its fiscal and physical resources.
I am very proud to have helped develop and provide strong and solid fiscal management at the universities I have served during my more than 30 years in higher education. Through this achievement, a wide variety of individuals received access to affordable educational opportunities and had a clear pathway to success in their personal and professional lives. There is no greater accomplishment in higher education.
From a very early age, my mother instilled in me the golden rule. Those early life lessons have shaped how I approach others in both my professional and personal life.
My greatest joy is found in spending time with my family, especially my wife Evelyn and our three daughters. Each daughter enjoys a different, unique skill or interest and I love being part of their discovery. Actually, my ability to serve the students at ESU is enhanced based on the daily “lessons” I learn from the girls – everything from which social media platforms are most popular to what is new in the worlds of technology, dance and music.
