KidsPeace has launched a program at its campus designed to help teen boys with severe behavioral challenges caused by significant in their lives.

The new program is called Explorere PRTF and was developed for males age 13 to 18 in collaboration with Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania.

President and CEO Michael Slack said the more intensive treatment was not previously available in Pennsylvania, which meant placing the youths in out-of-state programs.

“Together with Magellan, we recognized that because of the acute nature of their challenges, these youth needed a different kind of treatment that was not readily available in Pennsylvania,” Slack said.  “It’s very much in line with our mission of Hope, Help and Healing to establish the Explorer program as part of ‘s Continuum of Care in mental and behavioral health.”

KidsPeace began accepting referrals into the program this month.
