The president of Easton Hospital was asked to step down and two other top administrators left this month, according to the hospital and published reports.
Jeff Snyder, president, was replaced Monday after serving less than two years in the position at the hospital in Wilson, according to the Morning Call.
Linda Grass was named acting president, said Brendon Abbazio, a spokesman for Easton Hospital. Grass was the interim CEO of Northside Regional Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, which closed in September due to falling patient admissions.
Two other administrators at Easton Hospital, Steve Clark, chief financial officer, and Tanya Segal, vice president of human resources, left earlier this month, the Call reported.
Arthur Comito is serving as interim CFO, the report said.
Before joining Easton Hospital in July 2017, Snyder was president and CEO of Pocono Medical Center, which merged with Lehigh Valley Health Network in January 2017.
The departures come more than a year after Steward Health Care System LLC, a privately held company based in Dallas, Texas, bought Easton Hospital and seven other hospitals owned by financially troubled Community Health Systems Inc., based in Franklin, Tenn. CHS acquired Easton Hospital for $118 million in 2001.
Steward is the largest, private, for-profit hospital operator in the country.
Easton Hospital, a 196-bed hospital, is facing increased competition from the region’s two largest hospital networks, Lehigh Valley Health Network and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
Abbazio said Steward is “aggressively investing in the hospital for the benefit of our patients, health care professionals and the community.”
Some of the changes include implementing a new electronic health records system and improving technology and patient services at the hospital, he said.
