The 2020 Lehigh Valley Auto Show, scheduled to begin March 18 on the Goodman Campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, has been postponed indefinitely.
The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association announced the decision to forgo its flagship annual event this morning.
Lehigh University decided to close its classrooms and prohibit gatherings of over 100 individuals on its campus to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“Though as the show organizers we are disappointed and saddened to have to postpone indefinitely an event that so many in our community look forward to, we understand and agree with Lehigh’s decision,” said event organizers in a statement.
They noted that individuals who hold online tickets to the auto show may choose to have their tickets refunded or may choose to have the money donated to this year’s intended gala recipient Good Shepherd Pediatrics.
The auto show gala traditionally raises around $25,000 for its chosen charitable organization.
