Michael Bell is one of two principals at Breslin Architects, the Allentown firm where he has practiced since 1994 and held the principal role since 2017.

He oversees client relationships across the firm’s educational planning and design work, guiding school districts through design and construction.

In the past year, his projects included work for the Allentown, East Penn and Whitehall-Coplay school districts.

“My primary responsibility is to ensure we are meeting client expectations and successfully guiding them through the design and construction process to deliver projects that meet their vision, budget and schedule,” Bell said in a previous LVB profile.

The firm, founded in 1964, marked its 60th anniversary in 2024.

“We still hold true to our fundamental core values of providing clients with inspiring design, timeless solutions and exceptional service,” he said.

Gary Dahms is president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of T&M Associates in Middletown, N.J., where he has led firm strategy, growth and operations since 2012 across a 46-year career. Joining as a staff engineer in 1986, Dahms expanded T&M from a New Jersey municipal engineering practice into a national, multidisciplinary consulting company of 375 employees while preserving its employee-owned culture.

He chairs the T&M Foundation, launched in 2021 to broaden the firm’s philanthropic reach.

“I’ve expanded our geographic reach and technical capabilities while staying grounded in what defines us — our people, client relationships, and community commitment,” Dahms said.

As T&M marks its 60th anniversary, he sees major investment ahead in transportation, water and environmental infrastructure and is positioning the firm through AI-augmented expertise and sustainable solutions.

“We’ll continue to champion sustainable solutions as we lead the industry forward,” he said.

Christa Duelberg-Kraftician is a partner at Spillman Farmer Architects in Bethlehem, where she has built a 38-year career that began at the entry level and advanced through consistent performance and commitment. As one of three partners, she oversees project teams, serves as the direct client liaison and leads marketing and business development. Her path to partnership has defined her approach to mentorship and firm strategy.

“I’ve had the opportunity to help shape the firm’s strategic direction, contribute to its growth, and mentor others within the organization,” Duelberg-Kraftician said.

Beyond the firm, she helped establish a local nonprofit and continues to serve on its board, while remaining active on additional Lehigh Valley boards and committees.

“Watching the organization grow and make a tangible difference in the community has been incredibly rewarding,” she said.

Jason Engelhardt is a principal at Langan in Bethlehem, managing the firm’s Lehigh Valley office as part of a 30-year civil engineering career spanning infrastructure, roadway and site engineering projects for residential, commercial, industrial, university and school clients. Engelhardt has been part of Langan’s regional growth since the firm established its Lehigh Valley presence in 2008 with a small local team — now grown to more than 40 engineers and scientists invested in the Valley’s continued revitalization.

“I am proud to be part of it,” he said.

The firm extends that commitment through pro bono services for Valley Youth House’s Camp Fowler project, support for the Junior League and Engineers Without Borders and mentorship of high school and university students throughout the region.

Silvia A. Hoffman is president and founding partner of MKSD architects in Allentown, bringing 30 years of industry experience to the firm’s executive leadership and creative vision. She shapes the firm’s strategic direction, public identity and office culture while remaining actively involved in designing projects that define the MKSD portfolio.

For two decades, Hoffman has steered the certified woman-owned firm to transformative impact across the Lehigh Valley in healthcare, education and cultural sectors, guided by the foundational belief that design should be inclusive and human-centered.

MKSD architects received the 2025 ATHENA Organizational Leadership Award. Hoffman’s leadership is grounded in values she describes as fearlessness, progressive thinking, honesty, passion, perseverance and selflessness — a philosophy she extends beyond architecture through what the firm calls a “Beyond the Building” approach to client relationships and community.

Michael Kelly is a principal at KCBA Architects, serving clients across Lehigh, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties over a 27-year career. As the firm’s president, Kelly ensures clients receive creative design and attentive professional service while mentoring emerging staff.

Educational facility design has been a defining focus, particularly school safety and security — Kelly serves on the Pennsylvania Governor’s School Safety and Security Committee and is a frequent speaker and advocate on the issue.

An alumnus of the Allentown School District, he serves on the Superintendent’s Strategic Business Advisory Council and leads KCBA’s work as architect for Bridgeview Academy, a new institution preparing students for careers in science, healthcare and technology.

Joe Landrigan is president of SAGE Design-Build in Macungie, where he has applied 37 years of construction experience to every phase of the design-build process — from early concept and preconstruction through execution and closeout. Landrigan collaborates with his team and trade partners to align cost, scope and schedule, focusing on client trust and practical problem-solving throughout project delivery.

He founded SAGE after the 2008 financial crisis with a purpose beyond business success.

“It’s creating a company that provides stability and opportunity not just for my family, but for the families of our team,” Landrigan said.

Over 15 years, that vision has grown into a sustainable organization that delivers value to clients while building meaningful career paths for employees and contributing to the Lehigh Valley economy.

Andrew Lawler is president and COO of Barry Isett & Associates in Allentown, where he leads the firm’s culture, operations, strategy and finance with 18 years of industry experience.

Lawler champions the mindset that employee ownership fosters accountability and collaboration, aligning teams around shared goals and driving growth through operational excellence. His approach to leadership extends beyond organizational performance.

“I have always tried to be a student of leadership in business and life,” Lawler said.

Addressing talent acquisition — a persistent challenge across the architecture, engineering and construction industry — Isett has responded by investing in continuous learning and expanding leadership training at all levels.

“We want to share that message,” he said of the firm’s employee-owned culture and its values of team, ownership, balance and service.

Matthew Malozi brings more than 30 years of experience managing engineering and environmental services organizations to his role as vice president at Remington & Vernick Engineers, a 500-person civil engineering firm with an Allentown office he helps anchor.

His work spans transportation, healthcare and commercial development, with a particular focus in recent years on the site-selection and due-diligence demands of healthcare real estate — a sector he has written about for Healthcare Facilities Today, arguing that health systems now pursue prime real estate with the same data-driven precision as major retail chains.

He has led healthcare facility expansions, revitalization efforts and mixed-use developments.

Ana S. Martins, P.E., built a 38-year civil engineering career through determination — arriving as a young immigrant in a field where women remained underrepresented and rising to branch manager, associate and senior project manager at Van Cleef Engineering Associates in Bethlehem.

In her 20 years with the firm, she has led commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects across the Lehigh Valley and surrounding regions, supervising a multidisciplined team of engineers and technical staff while guiding the office’s continued strategic growth. The impact she values most, however, extends beyond any single project.

“I strive to demonstrate that with determination, support, and a willingness to learn, it is possible to pursue the career one desires,” Martins said.

She leads by listening closely, empowering her team and connecting regularly with staff about their goals and growth.

Les M. McCoy founded DesignPoint three decades ago and served as its president for 30 years. Now based in Bethlehem as senior principal, he handles client relations and new business development while mentoring the firm’s staff to deliver top-tier professional service.

DesignPoint is an interior architectural design firm with a major focus on the senior living and hospitality fields — a combination that has allowed McCoy’s team to take its services coast-to-coast across the country. The practice has also integrated hospitality design into senior living environments, producing spaces that feel more comfortable and more lived-in.

McCoy, an IIDA-credentialed designer, considers simply keeping a professional services firm operating through three decades of volatile economic cycles to be his principal accomplishment. Artificial intelligence is the most recent force reshaping the industry, he notes, and has already opened design possibilities that would have been cost-prohibitive to explore in prior years.

His leadership philosophy: make everyone feel important in what they do, keep a low profile, and elevate entrepreneurial spirit across the team.

For Michael Metzger, the measure of success at Alloy5 Architecture has less to do with projects completed than with people developed. A licensed architect and president of the Bethlehem firm, he leads growth, operations and design direction while staying hands-on — guiding staff through design development, technical problem-solving and client communication alongside long-range planning.

Metzger has watched interns grow into licensed architects, and takes quiet pride in the marriages, first homes and new families that have taken shape within the firm over the years.

“It’s rewarding to be surrounded by that success,” he said.

On the technology front, Alloy5 has integrated AI into its workflows for several years to enhance efficiency and design exploration — while Metzger maintains that every project still begins with understanding the client before technology enters the process.

Eric Snyder joined Keystone Consulting Engineers in 2004 and became its president in 2023, heading a Kresgeville-based civil engineering and surveying firm that serves municipal, commercial, and residential clients across the region. With 30 years in the industry, he has steered the firm’s business growth and actively promotes the profession at career fairs across the state.

Under Snyder’s leadership, Keystone has built much of the region’s local infrastructure — performing arts centers, fire stations, parks, and schools among them.

One thread runs through his career: helping local communities acquire grant funding for construction projects that would otherwise be unaffordable. Securing that kind of funding for necessary work across the Lehigh Valley and Pocono region has been, he says, among the most rewarding parts of the job.

Snyder operates with a client-first mentality, maintaining long-term municipal relationships that in some cases approach three decades. Internally, he credits Keystone’s dedicated, hardworking team — and his ability to find and hire local talent — as the bedrock of the firm’s success.

Christine Ussler launched Artefact, Inc. in Bethlehem in 1986 and still runs the firm as founder and principal, directing work that spans courthouse rehabilitations and mill conversions to a 90,000-square-foot school building inside a historic district.

The eight-person practice, licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Florida and WBENC-certified, has earned six Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Awards — including a 2024 award for converting the former Laros Silk Mill into more than 110 apartments.

Ussler served on the State Historic Preservation Board from 2016 to 2022 and has consulted with historic review boards in eastern Pennsylvania for 30 years.

Robert Weir, P.E., spent nearly three decades at Entech Engineering Inc. moving from construction observer to executive vice president before taking the presidency Sept. 28, 2022.

He now leads the Reading-based consultancy’s 150-plus staff across planning, design and consulting in civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental disciplines — serving municipal, industrial, higher education and healthcare clients throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.

A licensed engineer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York and West Virginia, Weir oversees Entech’s Pottsville office, where 20 engineers and environmental scientists handle water, wastewater and stormwater work and a fit-out for Alvernia College Towne.

“It has been an amazing journey being able to help build the firm that we are today,” he said at his appointment.

George White oversees technical and project delivery for Herbert, Rowland & Grubic’s Lehigh Valley office, the Allentown location the civil engineering firm opened to serve an 11-county territory.

He said one key accomplishment across his career was the Old Nazareth Road Drainage improvement project in Palmer Township that is currently under construction.

“This $3.7 million project has been designed by HRG to alleviate flooding problems which have plagued the area for over 50 years,” he said.

Aging infrastructure is a concern for municipalities across the state and White says that he and HRG have been assisting communities across the Lehigh Valley to balance cost and benefit of improvements.

“Everything from playground equipment to sanitary sewers have a limited life expectancy and replacement costs continue to skyrocket,” he said. “Public safety and quality of life both hinge on upkeep of public infrastructure.”
