July’s passenger traffic also marked the 10th consecutive month of growth – when compared to the same month a year prior – at the Hanover Township, Lehigh County airport, dating to October.

Last month, 76,394 passengers traveled through LVIA, a 20.6 percent increase from July 2017 and the highest single month passenger total since 2011, the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority reported.

One of LVIA’s four carriers, Allegiant, reported its highest monthly traffic count in history at the airport with 30,436 passengers in July, according to LNAA.

“The economy is strong, so more people are flying,” said Colin Riccobon, public information officer for LNAA. “Additionally, in recent months, we’ve had more seats in the market. Carriers have put additional seats in the market, and they are being filled.”

LNAA has also been continuing to market the airport and get additional carrier service at LVIA, he added.
