Maura McGuire
Managing Attorney
Northampton County Children, Youth & Families
McGuire joined Northampton County Children, Youth & Families Division in 2017 after 20 years in private practice and became managing attorney in 2018. “It is a privilege to work with our caseworkers, who work tirelessly to protect children and provide services for families,” she said.
Her responsibility is to oversee the legal aspects of the agency’s policies and procedures regarding child protective service and general protective service referrals. “I supervise our legal staff, providing representation for the agency in juvenile dependency and Orphans’ Court cases, as well as child abuse expunction appeals,” McGuire said.
She is also 2021 president of the Northampton County Bar Association, “which has a long tradition of collegiality, professionalism and commitment to community service,” McGuire said. “I have great respect and admiration for my fellow members. It is an honor to serve them in this role.”
In her spare time, she and her husband, now empty nesters, “are looking forward to new adventures,” she said, including travel, concerts and Philadelphia Eagles games.
