Gov. Tom Wolf is scheduled to sign an executive order Monday afternoon raising the minimum wage for state workers.
The rate would go from $7.25 to $10.15 an hour.
The order would only affect employees under the governor’s jurisdiction who are making under $10.15 an hour. Private industry would not be affected by the increase.
That will be the next push, however, according to Jeffrey Sheridan, the governor’s spokesman.
“As the governor proposed in his budget, he will also call on the Legislature to work with him to increase the minimum wage statewide,” Sheridan said.
