After 20 years in Bethlehem, Natural Food Group is expanding its business and has opened its new headquarters at 1139 Lehigh Ave., Suite 300, in Whitehall Township.
The company, which delivers frozen and dried fruits, berries, vegetables, nuts and juices to manufacturers and stores across the United States, added new product lines and needed a bigger space.
The new location at The Riverside Business Park, formerly a brownfield site, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday with local dignitaries and community leaders.
“Almost every space here in this facility is now occupied, providing not only much-needed jobs for Whitehall, but for the Lehigh Valley,” said Whitehall Mayor Ed Hozza.
The number of employees at Natural Food Group wasn’t disclosed, although the company said it plans to continue to grow its operations. It had been at 52 E. Union Blvd., Bethlehem.
The company’s product lines include Nimeks Organics, Mapeks Organics, Natural Food Source, Kervan USA, Smart Harvest, Smart Juice and Smart Kids.
“Today is a realization of a dream,” said Murat Guzel, CEO of Natural Food Group.
“With great education and hard work, I have been able to assemble a team that is allowing me to grow the business, and as CEO, I know that our business is only as strong as each one of our team members,” Guzel said.
“Our business in not only committed to the health well-being of our own employees and our customers, but also our entire community,” Guzel said.
U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent said Guzel is more than just a business leader.
“He’s very civic minded, and we appreciate his leadership,” Dent said.
Natural Food Group is sending a truck filled with nonperishable items to Texas to benefit flood victims in Houston. Thousands of pounds of food will be donated, including a pallet of 5-pound bags of dried apricots.
