New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, headquartered in Limeport, provides residential and clinical behavioral health services across its network of programs. President and CEO Judith O. Yanacek leads the 260-employee organization, which reported $25.5 million in revenue in 2025.
Anne Mills, a social worker with the Veterans Administration, founded the organization in the early 1980s. Motivated by a commitment to helping others, Mills began providing respite care for veterans in her own home — laying the groundwork for a family-owned business dedicated to supporting individuals facing behavioral health challenges.
Over four decades, New Vitae evolved from veteran respite care into a regional leader in behavioral health. Key milestones include acquiring Mount Trexler Manor, launching forensic and brain injury programs, earning CARF accreditation, and adopting a trauma-informed care model. The organization embraced electronic health records and telehealth during COVID-19 and has since added mobile psychiatric support services.
The New Vitae Wellness Foundation raises awareness, fights stigma, and advocates for those affected by behavioral health challenges, addiction, and brain injury. Staff diversity and inclusivity fuel a culture of empowerment, with career pathways and leadership programs designed to retain and develop talent across the organization.
