An Easton area manufacturer of monitor, tablet and sit-stand mounting solutions said its Evo articulating monitor arm won a 2017 Red Dot Award for Product Design.
Judged by experts in the design industry, competition for the Red Dot Award attracted more than 5,500 entries from manufacturers and designers from 54 countries. A team of 40 independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists evaluated each entry.
Innovative’s Evo product features a one-touch monitor adjustment, powered by the company’s Better Balance technology, which supports the monitor with constant force, ensuring smooth movement across the arm’s entire range of motion.
The company, headquartered in Forks Township, said its Evo product can be mounted to a desk’s edge or hole with a cable management system, which routes cables beneath the monitor arm.
“Aesthetically, it’s a very light-looking arm with a European look,” said Jeff Wolber, vice president of sales for Innovative. “From a functionality perspective, with it being a lighter scale arm, it will handle one pound to 12 pounds.”
Wolber said these lighter devices and monitors are what a lot more people are using.
While the company did not manufacture the Evo product in Forks Township, it assembles the product there. It manufactures a lot of other products at the Forks site, which employs 125 workers and is growing, he added.
“For us to win this award, it’s pretty incredible,” Wolber said. “Typically, these awards go to bigger manufacturers.”
The company said Innovative also was featured in a four-minute segment on Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland, a source for sponsored programming featuring business and health stories.
Innovative paid for the segment, which aired in March and created a lot of buzz on the company’s website and created brand awareness for the company, Wolber said.
Worldwide Business contacted Innovative and asked the company if it wanted to be part of an ergonomic product segment, Wolber said.
The segment, which included footage from its Forks Township manufacturing facility, aired last month on both Bloomberg International and Fox Business Network.
