What’s the “Coolest Thing Made in PA?” We’ll soon know, and people even have the chance to help decide.
The “Coolest Thing Made in PA” contest has been narrowed down to the Final Eight contestants, and voters across the state will have the chance to weigh-in when round three of voting begins at noon March 28.
According to the PA Chamber of Business and Industry, which is the organizer of the contest, more than 20,000 Pennsylvanians have already cast their votes for their favorite Pennsylvania-made products. This is the first year the chamber has organized the contest to highlight the state’s manufacturers.
The contest selected 32 of the most interesting products made in Pennsylvania to compete for the right to be called this year’s “Coolest Thing Made in PA.”
“From the steel that built our nation’s cities, to the food that feeds our families, and the cutting-edge technology driving today’s and tomorrow’s innovation — Pennsylvania makes it all,” Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry President and CEO Luke Bernstein said. “This competition celebrates the commonwealth’s storied history and continued leadership in manufacturing and spotlights the amazing companies who are making incredible things right here in Pennsylvania.”
The Final Eight showcases iconic items from across Pennsylvania – including Yuengling Lager, Primanti Brothers sandwiches, Hershey’s Kisses, Sheetz’s MTO’s, Mrs. T’s Pierogies, Zippo Lighters, Musselman’s Applesauce, and Martin & Co. Guitars.
The third round of voting will be held on the PA Chamber’s Twitter page.
There will be a fourth round of voting and then the championship will be held April 3.
In addition to bragging rights, the winner will receive complimentary tickets to next year’s Annual PA Economic Forecast and Business Leadership Summit where they will be honored.
