The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board announced this weekend that it is reopening a limited number of its Fine Wine & Good Spirits shops across the state.

The stores will be operating under a social distancing plan that includes call ahead ordering and curbside pickup.

According to the PLCB, starting when stores open Monday morning at 9 a.m. and through 1 p.m. each day Mondays through Saturdays, customers can purchase up to six bottles of wine or spirits per order, per person per day.

Customers can call the phone number of their closest open Fine Wine & Good Spirits shop. Staff will let them know what products are available for purchase at the location. Payment is required by credit card over the phone and orders will be available for curbside pickup at the store.

Stores will not be accepting returns.

The PLCB warns that it does expect there to be significant demand and asks for patience from customers who don’t get through on the phone right away.

It also said that stores may close before 1 p.m. if inventory runs out.

Sales are still being made at the state’s online portal www.finewineandgoodspirits.com, although customers have also had trouble getting through to make orders on that site because of demand.

Only a limited number of orders are being taken each day through a random selection process.

The PLCB is working to increase access and capacity to both its website and curbside pickup in the coming weeks.
