Always give your best on the playing field.
That’s the advice from Paul Huck this morning at the third annual Lehigh Valley Business CFO of the Year Awards program at DeSales University in Center Valley.
Huck received the lifetime achievement award, earning a standing ovation from the more than 300 people who attended the ceremony and networking event. Huck spent 33 years at Air Products and Chemicals before retiring as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
He was one of 26 professionals from the Greater Lehigh Valley who were recognized at the event, created by Lehigh Valley Business to honor the financial executives at all levels who contribute to our region’s economic growth and stability.
Besides Huck, award winners were named in six categories.
“These financial executives made tough decisions that not only kept them profitable in the tough times, but decisions that have built a strong base for faster growth in coming out of the recession,” said emcee David Schankweiler, CEO of Journal Multimedia, parent company of Lehigh Valley Business.
Concannon Miller & Co. was the presenting sponsor and STC Services was the major sponsor for the event, which included breakfast.
The criteria for the awards were career achievements, impact of the nominee’s contributions and his or her leadership in other areas of management. The top nominees in each category were chosen as finalists, and one nominee from each category was selected this morning as the winner.
