Express Business Center will move its growing commercial printing operations into a new home in Upper Macungie Township, a building on Hamilton Boulevard that will be renovated.
SAGE Design-Build of Upper Macungie Township this summer will start renovation of 6034 Hamilton Blvd., near TD Bank, for Express Business’ Center’s commercial printing equipment. EBC will retain its retail business printing operations at its current home at 6900 Hamilton Blvd.
SAGE also will renovate and expand the building at 6900 Hamilton, owned by Express Business Center, which wants to lease office space there.
“It allows us to provide expanded space,” said Mustafa Jaffer, co-owner of Express Business Center. Jaffer operates the business with his brother, Murtaza, who is also an owner.
Mustafa Jaffer said his business, which has 13 employees, has been growing and just added document shredding to its services.
Meanwhile, SAGE just completed the renovation of a two-story building at 6000 Hamilton Blvd., also for the Jaffer brothers, who plan to lease it for business use.
The structure has about 1,500 square feet per floor, said Joe Landrigan, president of SAGE.
“The second part of our business is the commercial business printing side; we have outgrown our space on both sides,” Mustafa Jaffer said. “This is why we wanted to expand our services. We wanted to make it easy for our customers.”
Jaffer said he bought 6000 and 6034 Hamilton Blvd. from an owner who moved his company to Fleetwood. Both properties have been vacant for a few years.
The building at 6000 Hamilton is environmentally friendly and offers space for one tenant to occupy the entire building or a tenant on each floor, he said.
“Some of the things that were unique about it were the size and proximity to the bank,” Landrigan said. “It’s just another good example of rejuvenating existing properties.”
Both companies declined to provide the estimated construction costs.
