PSECU to hire 20 for western Pa. call center

//April 16, 2019

The call center, at 2410 Philadelphia St. In Indiana, has been renovated to give the Harrisburg-based credit union room to nearly double the site’s existing workforce of 24.

Construction began in October and wrapped up in April. Regular call center operations were maintained during construction.

Tom Ruback, PSECU’s COO, said that the decision was made to expand the call center because of membership growth. PSECU currently has 450,000 members and over $5 billion in assets.

“That growth, coupled with our digital-first model, which encourages members to take advantage of the convenience of online, ATM, and phone offerings rather than face-to-face branch visits, has created a need for more call center staff who can offer high-quality member assistance,” he said in a news release.

PSECU maintains call centers at three sites across the state: Harrisburg, State College and Indiana.

According to the news release, additional employees at the Indiana call center will also ensure that member services are not affected if one of the other two locations is temporarily impacted.
