PSECU of Harrisburg held a grand unveiling Thursday on its newly renovated Financial Education Center at Kutztown University in Kutztown.
The Kutztown FEC originally opened in 2001 and crews have been working on renovating it with a more modern feel and updated technology in a project that began in July.
PSECU started out as the credit union for employees of the Pennsylvania State Education System, but now boasts a larger customer base.
Financial Education Centers are located at 22 colleges and universities. They are positioned right on campus and provide resources where students, faculty, staff, and community members can open an account, access their account through our online banking, apply for our loan products, and more.
Enhancements to the site will include a new design that encourages a more user-friendly experience and incorporates innovative technologies to provide better service to visitors, according to a spokesman.
“At PSECU, it’s our goal to always offer the highest quality products and services. As is the case with our Financial Education Centers, this often means making updates to ensure that we offer the most up-to-date tools and technologies for our members and potential members,” said Greg Smith, PSECU president. “Our Financial Education Centers are especially important because they give students educational opportunities that can set the foundation for their future financial well-being and success.”
The centers are staffed with a manager and a number of student interns. The paid student interns gain financial services career experience while working there.
